Before studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy, Marianne Garehime had felt the inspiring influence of foreign cities and landscapes as well as the richness of everyday life. Her interest in the human form, particularly in the context of new cultures, has led her to paint in various countries, including France, Italy, and Egypt. Marianne thinks of her creations as short stories, where she engages the viewer with a dialogue of color and sensation.
As a student of fine art and art history at the University of Colorado, she was first introduced to the fundamentals of plein air painting by southwest artist Ned Jacob, as well as Denver painter, Mark Daily.
She has exhibited at Savageau Gallery in Denver, Denver’s Plein Air Arts Festival in September, 2012, The September 2015 NoBo First Friday Exhibit in Boulder and the Colorado Plein Air 2015 juried competition at the Denver Public Library.
Since 2012, Marianne has been part of the volunteer staff for the Friday afternoon open figure painting at the Art Student’s League of Denver. She continues to paint both plein air and in her studio.
